First lesson I learned from the female family harpies was not to try engage in logic or reason when debating with inferior beings. Just machine gun them with words until they run to their mancave.

@ the OP, it's not hate, it's contempt/disdain/pity. A lot of us mined and found it excruciatingly boring, a dead end, and a locus for people to whine about non consensual combat and bang on about their wow-swag. Altho tbf I did once mine with a bunch of drunken aussies who were hilarious, but that was only when they started role-playing with the asteroids.
'Professional' miners are as odd as any other gamestyle. But the hardcore screechers make the rest look bad, and are basically waving their arms around asking for a kicking. I'm pretty sure there was never a game trailer that showed hippies cross-dressing and reading fanfic to each other whilst hitting the bong, then dressing up as midgets and weaving daisy chains to decorate their pickaxes (they do mutter about 'the man' obliquely tho). There's nothing wrong with semi-afk gameplay imo - I used to play online poker during all sov ops. Judging by keyups and giflinks many others in fleet were engaging in a one handed mini game. Farming is the issue, rather than the 'profession', and farming for the sake of it in particular.
Don't take it personally, I give a "GF" to mining ships that get away
